White Fillings

Modern filling materials mean that nowadays fillings can be natural looking as well as functional. White fillings can be used in almost all of the situations that silver fillings are used. When used in the correct situations white fillings can be as long lasting as silver fillings.

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, very much as a false finger nail fits over a nail.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and because they are very thin and held in place by strong dental cement, very little tooth preparation is necessary. Veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of teeth and be used to close small gaps between natural teeth.

Bite balancing with T- Scan III

Dental occlusion refers to the way your teeth meet when you bite together. All teeth should come in contact with one another simultaneously with minimal force. When this does not happen your occlusion is unbalanced and problems may result.
An occlusion exam is easy. You simply bite down on a thin sensor, which is comfortably shaped to fit the arch of your mouth. Vivid graphics display tooth contact data immediately and accurately, highlighting each tooth and force level exerted on that tooth during occlusion. This allows you and your dentist to immediately visualise problem areas before you leave the chair that day.
Some effects of poor occlusion. Damaged restorations (crowns, bridges). Flattened worn teeth. Teeth can become loose or gums may recede.

Tooth Whitening

White teeth could be yours with a professional tooth bleaching kit. We will take moulds of your teeth from which a bleaching tray will be made. These are worn for 1 hour per day for up to 4 weeks or until the desired lightness has been achieved. The advantage of using the home bleaching kit is that you are in control. The total cost for the kit is £230.00 and further tubes of bleaching gel can be purchased from the surgery.

The main advantage of this whitening method is that it allows you to control how white you want your teeth to be, as you determine how long you want to wear the bleaching trays for and how many sessions you need.

We use the Polanight home bleaching system. This uses laboratory made custom trays. You simply bleach your teeth at home. We believe the method we use has more control and gives excellent results. The advantage to our patients is that home whitening is around half the price of laser whitening.
